Hazchem signs and labels are unique signs used to communicate information about hazardous substances. These signs are designed to quickly alert people about the potential dangers associated with certain chemicals or materials. They are commonly used in Australia and adhere to Australian standards.

Complies to Australian Standard AS1216 26 and the Australian Dangerous Goods Code ADG 7.8.

In these signs, specific colors and shapes are used to convey critical information:

  • Shape: Hazchem signs are generally diamond-shaped, with a black border.
  • Background Color: The background color is usually orange, red, yellow and white, which helps to make the sign easily recognizable.
  • Symbols and Numbers: Some symbols and numbers inside the diamond indicate the type of hazardous substance present.

The symbols represent the nature of the hazard, such as flammable, toxic, corrosive, etc. The numbers provide additional information about the substance and its potential risks.
